Tips For First Time Flyers

Travelling by plane for the first time may be both exhilarating and intimidating. Here are some pointers to make your first flight a pleasant and pleasurable experience:

  1. Arrive Early: Arrive at the airport ✈ at least 2-3 hours before your flight's departure time. This gives enough time for check-in, security, and any unforeseen delays. Some airports will need a significant amount of time for clearance.
  2. Check-in Online: Many airlines allow you to check in online up to 24 hours before your journey. This might save you time and assist you in selecting better seats. Checking in online might also save you money because some airlines charge you to check in at the counter.
  3. Check your airline's luggage 🧳 allowance and regulations before packing. Travel papers, prescriptions, a change of clothes, and chargers should all be packed in your carry-on. You may be required to weigh your carry-on bag before entering the departure area, so keep it light.
  4. Travel 🖻Documents: Keep your passport, boarding pass, and any necessary visas or identification with you at all times.
  5. Security Checks: Be ready for security checks. Wear readily detachable shoes, avoid ostentatious jewellery, and keep drinks in quart-sized, transparent, resealable plastic bags containing 3.4 ounces (100ml) or less.🧴
  6. Dress 👗comfortably: For the flight, wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Layers are ideal because cabin temperatures can fluctuate.
  7. Keep Hydrated: Because the cabin air is frequently dry, 🧉drink water on a regular basis to keep hydrated. After security, you can purchase water or bring an empty reusable bottle to fill inside.
  8. Bring entertainment such as books, periodicals, music, or films to keep oneself entertained during the journey. You can even opt to snooze the entire flight!😴
  9. Ear pressure can be relieved by chewing gum, sucking on candies, or yawning during takeoff and landing.
  10. Seating Preferences: You may be able to pick your seat at online check-in or at the airport. A seat above the wings is less turbulent if you are prone to motion sickness.
  11. Pay Attention to Instructions: Pay attention to the safety demonstration and follow the advice of the flight attendants. Stay alert and study the safety instructions in front of your seat if you are near the evacuation door.
  12. Seatbelt Sign: Always use your seatbelt when sitting, even if the seatbelt sign is turned off. Unexpected turbulence can occur.
  13. Aisle or Window: Determine if you want an aisle seat (which provides more legroom and quicker access to the lavatory) or a window seat (which provides better views but limits mobility). You can choose your seat ahead of time for a fee, or you can sit wherever the system assigns you.
  14. Motion Sickness: If you are prone to motion sickness,💊 carry medicine or other treatments with you. Looking out the window or concentrating on the horizon might also be beneficial.
  15. Jet lag: If you're travelling between time zones, try adjusting your sleep routine a little before your trip to avoid jet lag.
  16. In-Flight Comfort: For a more pleasant flight, use a neck pillow, blanket, and eye mask. 👀
  17. Snacks: Bring some snacks in case the airline's cuisine isn't to your liking or if there are delays.
  18. Keep Calm: It's natural to be worried, but remember that flying is one of the safest ways of transportation. 🙋
  19. Keep photocopies or digital copies of your vital travel papers in case they are misplaced or stolen.
  20. Take Advantage of the Opportunity: Take time to enjoy the view from above and the thrill of exploring new areas!

Remember that each airline and airport may have different processes and restrictions, so familiarise yourself with those facts before your journey. Have a fantastic first flight and enjoy your journey!

Hat Yai. This is my first visit to Thailand. Was supposed to visit Thailand in year 2019 but there is Covid! Anyhow. I succeed to continue my planning even though with different people from my first planning.
